Labor Agreements to Achieve Budgetary Savings

Jul 11, 2025 - Since June 30, 2025, the administration signed tentative agreements with Bargaining Units 10 (Professional Scientists) and 16 (Physicians, Dentists, and Podiatrists). The Unit 16 agreement is a proposed successor MOU to the expired Unit 16 MOU.

The 2025-26 Budget: Concession Bargaining

May 19, 2025 - In 2010-11, the state made changes to pension formulas for future hires and increased contribution rates for existing employees. For example, see the 2010 agreement with Service Employees International Union, Local 1000 (Local 10000), which increased employee contributions from 5 percent of pay to 8 percent of pay and reduced pension benefits for future hires.

The 2021-22 Budget: Labor Agreements Ending Personal Leave Program 2020

Jun 25, 2021 - Employees would be expected to use the leave “routinely. ” The agreement specifies that the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) would be able to mandate usage in reverse seniority order if employees do not voluntarily sign up for the time off.
