The 2023-24 Budget: Proposition 98 Overview and K-12 Spending Plan

Feb 7, 2023 - The other notable ongoing proposal in the budget is $300  million for a new component of the LCFF known as the “equity multiplier. ” This component would be allocated for school sites with especially high shares of students who qualify for free meals under the federal nutrition program (90  percent or above for elementary and middle schools and 85  percent or above for high schools).

Mar 7, 2025 - LEAs are eligible to apply for funding if they have schools where at least 90  percent of students are EL/LI, or rural schools where at least 75  percent of students are EL/LI. Unlike the LCRS program, LEAs must apply for these grants.
