The 2024-25 Spending Plan: Judiciary and Criminal Justice

Sep 10, 2024 - New In-Custody Death Review Division. The budget provides $3.3  million General Fund in 2024-25 (increasing to $7.7  million in 2025-26 and ongoing) for BSCC to establish a new division that will review investigations of deaths that occur in local correctional facilities and make recommendations to such facilities as required by Chapter  306 of 2023 (SB  519, Atkins).
