Apr 16, 2024 - Since 2020 ‑21, the state has allowed State Preschool providers to receive the lesser of reimbursable program costs or the contract amount, but did not take attendance into consideration. This allows providers to receive their full contract amount regardless of how many children are enrolled in the program.

Feb 11, 2021 - The Governor ’s budget also proposes shifting $31. 7  m illion and 185. 7 p ositions on an ongoing basis from CDE to DSS starting July 1, 2021. As Figure   3 shows, these positions are shifting from six different divisions within CDE, with the bulk of positions shifting from the Early Learning and Care Division and the Nutrition Services Division.

Feb 9, 2023 - High Risk of 2023‑24 Proposition 64 Revenues Coming in Lower Than Governor’s Budget Assumption. As previously mentioned, the Governor’s budget assumes that SCO transfers $95.7 million from the General Fund to Proposition 64 programs in 2023‑24 and maintains Proposition 64 funding levels for child care flat in 2023‑24.
