Oct 25, 2021 - Independent study programs range from fully online virtual academies to hybrid programs that combine on-site and off-site (as well as synchronous and asynchronous) instruction. Whereas state law ordinarily allows districts to decide whether to provide these programs, budget trailer legislation requires districts to provide an independent study option in 2021 ‑22.
