Nov 14, 2025 - Chapter  622 of 2024 (AB  2508, McCarty) authorizes accounts for all foster youth in first through twelfth grade, whereas accounts previously were authorized only for foster youth in first grade. Deposits for foster youth remain set at $1,000.

Mar 13, 2024 - Chapter  21 of 2021 (AB  128, Ting) appropriated $439  million one-time General Fund to support local library infrastructure projects. Chapter  249 of 2022 (AB  179, Ting) appropriated an additional $50  million one-time General Fund for the same purpose.

The 2025-26 Budget: California State Library

Mar 7, 2025 - Chapter  249 of 2022 (AB  179, Ting) appropriated $2  million one-time General Fund to the City of San Diego for the construction of the Beverly and Joseph Glickman Hillel Center. Though the center has been constructed, the State Library indicated the center ultimately was unable to accept the funding and withdrew its request.

Dreamer resource liaisons are college staff trained to provide guidance to undocumented students on accessing legal services, financial aid, job internships, and other services.
