That being said, we do not know what is the necessary ratio of women to men correctional officers at female institutions in order to comply with AB  2550.

Strengthening the CalSTRS Funding Plan

Mar 10, 2021 - PEPRA of 2013 (Chapter 296 of 2012 [AB 340, Furutani]) made changes to pension benefits structures for public employees, including teachers. As a result, CalSTRS’ benefits for members hired prior to when PEPRA took effect (January 1, 2013) are different from benefits for those hired after PEPRA took effect (January 1, 2013 and later).

The 2020-21 Budget: Labor Agreements to Achieve Budgetary Savings

Sep 9, 2020 - The new agreement reduces the number of classroom training hours by 32 hours —from 48 hours to 8 hours. The 32 hours of training is intended to become nonclassroom, on-the-job, or online training. The administration indicates that this will result in nearly $60  million in savings because the administration will not need to backfill officers who are attending classroom training with other officers who receive overtime payments.
