Nov 15, 2017 - The enacted statewide minimum wage increases —set to gradually raise the state ’s minimum wage to $15 per hour by 2022 —will increase wages for IHSS providers. Since the current average wage for IHSS providers is a little over $11 per hour (above the current statewide minimum wage of $10.50 per hour), we project that the major costs of the scheduled minimum wage increases will begin when wages increase to $12 per hour and above, beginning in 2019.

The 2024-25 Budget: Future of Public Health Budget Solution

May 21, 2024 - Beginning in 2022 ‑23, the Legislature approved $300  million in ongoing General Fund support for the department, which included $100  million for CDPH state operations and $200  million for LHJs. The purpose of the funding was to address shortfalls identified by the workgroup in the state ’s existing public health infrastructure.
