Of the total amount, $90  million is to continue awarding annual grants of $5,000 to teachers who achieve the National Board certification and teach in a priority school.

For  example,  even a relatively modest change to assume 90  percent participation would reduce costs by approximately $400  million. Another option is to reduce district allocations to account for the funding districts receive through the ASES and 21st Century programs, reducing ELOP costs by at least several hundred million dollars.

Mar 4, 2025 - School Food Best Practices Fund ($100   Million). The 2022 ‑23 budget package provided $100  million for LEAs to implement various initiatives referred to as school food best practices. Specifically, LEAs could use funds to (1)  purchase California ‑grown or produced foods that are sustainably grown, whole, or minimally processed; (2)  purchase plant ‑based or restricted diet meals; and/or (3)  freshly prepare meals on ‑site.

Feb 6, 2017 - Students who have been enrolled in a county program for fewer than 90 days have their test scores attributed to their home district. Once a student has been enrolled at a COE alternative school for more than 90 days, or enters a COE alternative school after dropping out, the COE rather than the home district is responsible for that student ’s outcomes.
