Sep 11, 2024 - The budget reverts $485  million one-time General Fund from this initiative. The state originally created this initiative in 2021-22. The initiative was intended to provide students from underrepresented backgrounds with subsidized work-study opportunities related to their area of study or career interests.

Under this policy, tuition increases annually for new undergraduates and all graduate students, while continuing undergraduates pay a flat rate for up to six academic years.

Dec 10, 2025 - All regions saw improvements in this measure between 2015 ‑16 and 2022 ‑23. For  example, in the San Diego/Imperial region, CTE students who last enrolled in 2015 ‑16 saw a median earnings increase of 20  percent, while CTE students who last enrolled in 2022 ‑23 saw a median earnings increase of 30   percent —an improvement of 10  percentage points over the period.
