Dec 2, 2019 - Proposition  71 did not specify the length of the repayment period for each bond issuance, but the state tended to repay the bonds over ten years. Proposition  71 bonds were taxable and a ten-year repayment period is common for these types of bonds.

Nov 3, 2020 - As of June 2020, CIRM had spent most of its Proposition  71 funds. According to CIRM, around $30  million remains available for grants. As it nears the end of its funding, CIRM has been decreasing its staffing.
