COVID-19: Unemployment Insurance for Workers Impacted by COVID-19

Mar 23, 2020 - During September and October 2020, under a FEMA-funded program called “lost wages assistance, ” UI recipients received an additional $300 weekly for up to six weeks. In December, 2020, H.R. 133 re-instituted the weekly $300 added benefit for January 1, 2021 to March  14, 2021.

Sep 30, 2016 - Adding this payment to previous interest payments, the state has spent a total of almost $1.4  billion in General Fund resources servicing the federal loan since the beginning of the recession. The state is estimated to make additional interest payments of $52  million in 2017 and $17  million in 2018 before the loan is projected to be fully repaid in 2018, as shown in Figure  2 below.
