Feb 5, 2025 - BHCIP Created in 2021 ‑22 Budget. The  2021 ‑22 budget plan included $2.2  billion (later reduced, as described below) to create BHCIP. (This amount was originally the sum of $1.7  billion General Fund and $530  million in federal funding, but the federal funding was shifted to the General  Fund in December 2024, making the General Fund the sole funding source for BHCIP.)

Feb 20, 2025 - As   Figure  6 shows, while brand drugs represented a small share of commercial health plan fee‑for‑service claims in 2021, they comprised a majority of spending. Costs also are higher for consumers, with average out‑of‑pocket costs more than four times the cost for brand drugs than generics.

The 2025-26 Budget: CalAIM Enhanced Care Management and Community Supports Implementation Update

Mar 6, 2025 - As shown in Figure  4 , General Fund spending for these programs has increased substantially since 2021 ‑22, with ECM spending increasing by $308  million (466  percent) and Community Supports spending increasing by $68  million (317  percent).
