Sep 7, 2023 - Fewer Employees at Top Step. The share of Unit  6 members who are at the top step of the correctional officer salary range has decreased from 71  percent in 2013 to 57  percent in 2021. This is consistent with the fact that state correctional officers tend to have fewer years of service today than they did in 2013.

The 2021-22 Budget: Overview of the Governor's Budget

Jan 10, 2021 - In addition, a law enacted last June requires the state to make a $2.3  billion supplemental payment on top of the guarantee in 2021 ‑22. Including this payment, total Proposition  98 funding for schools and community colleges in 2021 ‑22 is $88.1  billion —$60.8  billion from state General Fund and $27.3  billion from local property tax revenue.

The 2023-24 Budget: The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation

Feb 16, 2023 - The Governor requests $5.6  million General Fund —on top of the $8.3  million identified above —to pay for these charges over the six ‑month period. The department indicates that it might adjust the amount it is requesting at the May Revision based on actual minute usage data. $30.7   Million General Fund to Pay Charges and Provide Information Technology (IT) Support Annually.
