Feb 27, 2025 - Under this system, UC is authorized to sell its own university bonds and use a portion of its annual state appropriation to cover associated debt service. Since this new system has been in place, the state has given UC authority to finance $4 billion in facility projects using university bonds.

The Chancellor ’s Office is required to report on December 31, 2023 and every two years thereafter on colleges ’ efforts to serve currently and formerly incarcerated students.

Mar 10, 2025 - The school now is requesting that the state authorize an additional $151  million for the project. With the additional funding, the school indicates it could provide the original 257 beds, plus an additional 23 new beds, at below market rents, while also reducing rents among its existing housing stock (of 437 beds).
