Jun 16, 2025 - The  adult lifetime aid limit changed twice between 2010 and 2024. In 2011, it was reduced from 60 months to 48 months (in an effort to reduce costs). In 2022, the limit increased from 48  months to 60 months.

There is no direct estimate of CFAP take ‑up rates (which are more difficult to calculate due to the program ’s small size), although some research suggests that participation in food assistance programs is lower among immigrants than among naturalized citizens.
