Jun 2, 2020 - First, all UI recipients are entitled to recei ve $600 per week above their traditional UI benefit through July  31, 2020. Although these additional dollars are excluded when calculating CalWORKs grant levels, we expect them to nevertheless impact recipients ’ interest in applying for CalWORKs, as the $600 weekly benefit far exceeds the maximum CalWORKs weekly benefit for a family of three (about $245).

Recent Congressional Action on the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP)

Jan 23, 2018 - The administration estimates that these actions reduce estimated General Fund Medi-Cal costs by about $300  million in 2017 ‑18 and about $600  million in 2018 ‑19. As a result, we anticipate the May Revision will reflect $900  million in lower General Fund expenditures, and an equal amount of resources available for any purpose.

Jun 16, 2025 - Most recently, the EID increased from $90 to $450 for applicants (as of March  2023) and from $225 to $600 for participants (as of June 2022). Modified Reporting Requirements.
