The 2022-23 Budget: Overview of the Governor's Budget

Jan 13, 2022 - Finally, as a result of the SAL, the Legislature has limited flexibility to reallocate these proposals to other purposes. In particular, for the majority of the Governor ’s infrastructure ‑related proposals, the Legislature could only reallocate those funds to another SAL ‑related purpose, such as more spending to respond to COVID ‑19, different types of capital outlay, tax reductions or tax payments, and additional school payments.

Mar 17, 2026 - This EdBudget table lists all of the Proposition 2 projects funded in 2025-26. Districts Have Submitted Many New Project Proposals for 2026-27. The Chancellor ’s Office indicates that districts submitted 35 eligible new project proposals for Proposition  2 bond funding in 2026-27.

The 2024-25 California Spending Plan: Higher Education

Sep 11, 2024 - We summarize those cost estimates by segment and award type in our Cal Grant Spending EdBudget table. Second, it reflects a $42 million downward adjustment to CSAC’s May Revision estimates. The state postponed the 2024-25 application deadline for most Cal Grant awards from March 2 to May 2 due to implementation issues with the new FAFSA form.

Assessment of CSU’s Graduation Initiative 2025

Dec 10, 2025 - We recommend each campus provide this information in a consistent table format, such that the report is easier for campuses to prepare, more concise, and more useful than previous GI  2025 reports. We recommend requiring the CSU Chancellor ’s Office to compile these tables into one consolidated report that highlights key takeaways, including identifying which activities it found most cost ‑effective in meeting each of the program ’s objectives.

The 2026-27 Budget: California Community Colleges

As with apportionments, statute does not require the state to provide a COLA for any CCC  categorical program.
