California Community Colleges: Effects of Increases in Noncredit Course Funding Rates

Mar 30, 2017 - Taking these courses on a lower ‑stakes, noncredit basis allowed the students to explore the career area and earn a noncredit certificate. The college reports that, whereas its credit certificate program in electronics previously had low enrollment and was at risk of closing, the noncredit program has robust enrollment and is encouraging more students to enroll in the associated credit programs as well as helping them gain immediate employment.
