It  opened in Berkeley in 1907, relocated to Oakland in 1922, and opened a second campus site in San Francisco in 1996. Serving as a two ‑campus institution for more than two decades, CCA is currently transitioning down to a one ‑campus institution, retaining only its San Francisco site.

The 2024-25 Budget: California State University

Feb 15, 2024 - As of this writing, 2024 ‑25 compensation increases have not yet been determined for three smaller unions, as well as non ‑represented employees. CSU estimates the cost of every 1  percent increase in its compensation pool for all employee groups in 2024 ‑25 would be $55  million ongoing.

California Community Colleges—Managing Cash in a Time of State Payment Deferrals

Dec 18, 2020 - The state began using payment deferrals during the dot ‑com bust but relied much more heavily on them during the Great Recession. The practice of deferring college payments peaked in 2011 ‑12, when the state deferred a total of $ 961  m illion in CCC payments —accounting for nearly 30  p ercent of CCC Proposition  98 General Fund support.
