Feb 20, 2024 - The 2022 CHIPS Act provides financial incentives for semiconductor companies to expand their operations in the U.S. $50  Million to Supplement ISRF Loans. The Governor ’s budget also proposes a one-time General Fund allocation of $50  million to supplement ISRF ’s existing resources to provide loans to public agencies.

Fixing Unemployment Insurance

Dec 2, 2024 - Unemployed workers can receive 50  percent of their regular wages, up to a maximum of $450 per week, for up to 26 weeks. (Due to the $450 weekly benefit maximum, about half of workers receive less than 50  percent of their regular wages.)

Feb 27, 2023 - The budget increased the required payment amount for April and June from a total of 50  percent to 60  percent (and reduced the required amount for the rest of the year). This change had the effect of accelerating tax collections from 2009 ‑10 into 2008 ‑09, thereby improving the 2008 ‑09 budget condition.

Tax Credit Expansions in the American Rescue Plan

Apr 13, 2021 - For tax year 2021 only, filers are allowed to claim up to 50  percent of the first $8,000 of expenses for one child under age 13 or the first $16,000 of expenses for two or more children. As Figure  2 below shows, the 2021 credit percentage starts to phase down at a much higher income level than under prior law.
